Our Team

MedClinik is a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals and technology and public health experts. Interdisciplinary collaboration helps us look at the overall health issues and identify clinically validated solutions to improve the patient journey.

A scientific advisory team of doctors and researchers in eHealth, health economics, information assessment, quality of life assessment and patient behavior advises MedClinik. Our scientific committee is involved in every development by validating the medical and behavioral underpinnings as well as by teaching the best practices.


MedClinik’s mission is to address unmet medical needs by commercializing clinically validated health technology (eHealth/mHealth) solutions for patients and healthcare stakeholders, with a particular focus on:
  • Improving adherence to medication
  • Improving patients’ own risk assessment
  • Supporting patients during therapy
  • Providing remote monitoring and interactions with healthcare professionals

José Coté, Ph.DCanada
Associate Professor, Faculty of Nursing, Université de Montréal. Heads the research chair on new nursing practices and leads the research team developing the TAVIE VirtualNurseTM portfolio to improve adherence by helping patients learn the skills to manage their therapies.
Moutih Rafei, Ph.DCanada
PhD in experimental medicine from McGill University (2009) and a specialty in immunology and oncology research from Université de Montréal (2013). Researcher and professor at Université de Montréal’s department of Pharmacology in the School of Medicine.

Geraldine Martorella, RN, Ph.D.Canada
Assistant professor at Université de Montréal. Her expertise is in pain management and monitoring and disability, information technology and critical care.

Ridley August, MD Switzerland
General practitioner and researcher in infectious diseases (HIV). Dr. August interacts daily with patients, advises and identifies practical solutions to health problems.

Vicky Barghout, MSc.New York
For over 15 years, Vicki has led various pharmaceutical divisions in the health care industry, including Novartis US Oncology Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) and Pricing, Global Novartis GI Franchise HEOR, and Bayer HEOR. She has worked on multiple drug launches and post-launch activities focusing on oncology, gastroenterology, neurology, primary care, women’s health, and diagnostics. She has published over 25 manuscripts in top-tier journals and has presented over 90 abstracts at major international conferences. Her work has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times.
